The Frequency adverbs


 The frequency adverbs are 

  1. always
  2. almost always
  3. generally
  4. frequently
  5. usually
  6. sometimes 
  7. occasionally
  8. seldom
  9. rarely
  10. hardly ever
  11. not ever
  12. never 

The frequently adverbs usually come after the verb be and before other verbs 

  1.     Timothy is always interested in languages . 
  2. He sometimes finds native speakers to talk to. 

 We can put sometimes at the beginning of the sentences too. 

  1. Sometimes  he finds native speakers to talk to.
  2. Sometimes I go to my aunt restaurant. 

seldom , rarely ,hardly ever , almost ,never have the same meaning 

seldom , rarely are more formal 

 Generally , we use hardly ever and almost never in conversational English and informal writing 

  1. Do you ever speak English with your parents ? 
  2. No , I almost never do. or I hardly ever do .
